Spey Casting for more productive Trout and everything else fishing
Flyfishers that hear the term "Speycasting" usually think of two handed fly rods, Salmon and Steelhead and big rivers, but the reality is that skillful speycasting with the rod you already own is one of the great secrets of elite anglers for all species worldwide. When you learn to speycast with any rly rod in your hand, you take an enormous step forward as an angler.
How to DIY fly fish at home and abroad.
After putting together the fishing side of many differing fishing shows, Though this role as a fishing show producer, I have learned some great techniques that can make any fishing trip a better one, even if you are going someplace you have never been. Throwing yourself adventurous curve balls can make you a more effective fisherperson when less is known about where you are going and improvisation will be required.
Becoming a better Streamer fisherperson
knowing the three pillars of Streamer fishing, and how to catch more and bigger Trout along with every other predatory fish. Streamer fishing is not only the path to more and bigger Trout, but it is also the preferred technique of just about every other fish on the planet. Bonefish Flies, Steelhead leeches, Permit Crabs, those are all more or less streamers. This is the single most important presentation technique in the world, so its best to be great at it.
Becoming a better Nymph Angler
There is no technique in Trout, Salmon and Steelhead fishing that is as important as skillful nymphing. Knowing when to use both American or European techniques, and when the conditions are right how to specifically blend these techniques into an even better combined approach.
Becoming a better Dry Fly fisherperson:
Catch more fish on top by committing to the technique and understanding the casts, mends and flies that consistently raise fish. Many nymph and wet fly fishermen never realize that many days, a well thrown dry fly is the single most effective offering.
Becoming a Stealthier Angler
We all have an idea that scaring the fish is a bad idea, but what are the mechanics of being stealthy. How does your approach and your procedure facilitate greater stealth? Learn how to better approach all of the different fish that you pursue, and how to understand all the ways that you might spook them.
Organizing a fishing tournament
Long a great fundraiser and community builder, tournament fishing at any scale, whether fresh or salt can be exciting and incredibly educational. Whether for a club, group of friends or for a corporate trip, I conduct varying types of tournaments and events that are fun and unforgettable.
